Welcome to our BSF Microsite
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a profound and positive impact in our community that will endure for generations.
Larkmead School is developing and growing. Part of this development is that we have been selected as a Phase 1 School for Oxfordshire’s part in the nationwide Building Schools for the Future programme.
This will mean that the facilities at Larkmead will be re-furbished or re-built, providing us with the chance to create settings that really do justice to the exciting learning and events that already take place here. The school could look very different from the way it is now, with all of the new opportunities that would bring for our students and our community.
We are committed to looking at learning to make sure that what happens at Larkmead is as meaningful and memorable as possible. Everything that goes on in our school should support all learners to show off their skills and talents and to learn new ones.
To make the Building Schools for the Future process successful involves many different people, including students, staff, parents and others who have a stake in the Larkmead community. We have planned a series of events to share this vision and for you to have the chance to contribute. The launch of our consultation took place on Tuesday 27th April and was well attended. The consultation letter in the document archive sets out one way in which you can get involved in the process in detail if that is of interest, but there will be a number of different chances to have your say and to contribute.
The re-building of Larkmead School provides an opportunity to put the school at the centre of the community providing links and shared facilities for the Arts; Sports and Leisure and continuing education to name just three areas. If these possibilities excite you; come along, listen and contribute. This development is about the school and the community and this is your chance to have a say.
The future at Larkmead will be the best of what we already do and the best of what we can imagine. Whether we get brand new buildings and facilities or not, the aim will always be the same; to transform lives and create opportunities, so that our students are happy, engaged, confident, curious, resilient and resourceful learners who are willing and ready to explore whatever life offers. Whatever the outward appearance of the school site, the face of the school will be a smile.
